Schools On Target, LLC is licensed by the State of Texas as a private investigations & security firm.

PRIVATE INVESTIGATIONS

Private Investigation services are utilized for a variety of reasons but in our business model we use them to investigate network attacks, hacks other cyber attacks and real life threats to a school.

We can also provide in depth background checks and background investigations.We have tools not available to all law enforcement and can investigate, gather evidence and present it in court.

SCHOOL SECURITY RESOURCE OFFICERS

Schools On Target is a licensed security services provider under The Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau. Our Level III commissioned officers are referred to as School Security Resource Officers and have been through specific training for a school environment as well as active shooter Guardian training.

Our officers are typically retired or previous law enforcement who live in your community or may already work for the school.

Retired or Previous Law Enforcement on School Staff

Retired or previous law enforcement must have a level III commission from DPS under the private security bureau through a licensed contracting company. A commissioned officer cannot work solo.

School Staff who are currently peace officers but not employed to perform duties at a school

Many officers retain a reserve status on a police department of sheriff’s office to keep up their commission, however they are not being paid nor have an agreement with the department to provide services. In these cases, an officer must also have a level III commission from DPS under the private security bureau through a licensed contracting company. We can carry either Level III commission through a contract for a fee.

The person would be a school staff member as well as our employee, this way the officer can enforce school policies. We can also directly hire and pay officers who would then work for us but have post orders, but they would not be able to enforce school policy.

There are two legal and protected methods to have a law enforcement officer on a campus. Note: Police Officer in any form or fashion cannot enforce school policy under the law. Some school policies are not violations of the law.

1. Police officer is with a contract of services under a department such as a police department of sheriff’s office. An officer in this regard cannot be employed also be the school.

2. Through an ISD police department established under TCOLE guidelines. Schools On Target also provides Level IV personal protection officers and private investigation service.

PPO - PERSONAL PROTECTION OFFICERS

We can provide specialized officers who are plain clothed and highly trained in counter terrorism, self defense, weapons use and medical training. These officers are sued to protect school staff members who have had a death threat or threat of violence made against them.
